IST programme June 2011
The IST was contract by the Carter Center and the World Bank Institute to participate in a second contract and 6-month programme of interventions aiming to support the dialogue on FOI legislation in West Africa.
This included a videoconference that convened representatives of government, parliament, civil society and the media from Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana. The initiative aimed to strengthen the role of coalitions for effective ATI regimes in target countries. Following the video conferences, a small delegation from each country attended a face-to-face structured learning programme (SLP) on transparency law, policy and practice which was run by an IST faculty of seven members, in Accra, Ghana from 1-3 June 2011. The strategy and methodology remained the same as with the inaugural school.
